Who inspires Stephen and why?
My five year old daughter inspires me. She always asks inquisitive questions that make me ask/think, “Where did you learn that?” or “You are very observant and thinking!”

Biography:
Mr. McFarland is originally from Indianapolis, IN. He moved to Gary, IN with his wife and three small children before the start of the school year to begin his teaching career. His wife is also a teacher.
Mr. McFarland earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a concentration in Computer Information Systems and a minor in Spanish from IUPUI. He has experience student teaching in Indianapolis Public Schools as a fellow of the Woodrow Wilson Fellowship. Mr. McFarland is currently finishing his Master of Technology degree through Purdue University.
Before becoming a teacher Mr. McFarland has worked in Web Development and Instructional Design. This experience in the work place and the skills he has learned on the job has prepared him to be a successful teacher.
Mr. McFarland is excited to work with such a great team of teachers and the dedicated students of the 21st Century Charter School @ Gary.
