Middle Schoolers Excel at Spell Bowl

21st Century Charter School @ Gary participated in its first Indiana Academic Spell Bowl (Junior Area) on Tuesday, October 26, 2010. The competition took place at Clifford Pierce Middle School in Merrillville, Indiana.

The following Middle School Cougars participated in the event:

• Jamiah Cross
• Cheyene Buchanan
• Deyon Burks
• Rajanae Davis
• Chairel Lockwood
• Kenisha Lewis

The Cougars placed 3rd in their Class (Class 4) and scored a total of thirteen points. Coach Gaines, Coach McIntosh, and Coach Ball were extremely proud of the Cougars’ pride, intellect, and determination.

The 2011 Indiana Spell Bowl (Junior Area) is scheduled for October 2011. 21st Century Charter School @ Gary Cougars will “S-P-E-L-L” their way to “V-I-C-T-O-R-Y”!!!!
