21st Century Charter School at Gary has created an innovative program, with the help of Ivy Tech Community College. 21c High School students have the opportunity to take college classes on-site at Ivy Techs local campus, completely free of charge. As a result of this program, two 21c High School graduates of the Class of 2014 finished the year with both a high school diploma, and Associates Degree in hand!

21st Century Charter School named Erika Dilosa as the new Special Education Director on June 11.

Dilosa is a licensed special education teacher, received her degree from Chicago State University, her teaching certification in Special Education K-12 from Indiana University, and a Master of Science in Education from Indiana University. Dilosa has 10 years of experience in special education and is licensed in Special Education K-12 Mild Interventions.

As the weather warmed and the close of the school year drew near, high school receptionist Ms. Burr took two 21st Century Charter School at Gary community groups the Cougar Belles and the Young Kings to a local Comfort Suites for an end of year Pool Party!

My class did an activity aligned with Indiana Standards showing skills of communication, social and multiply decimals and adding and subtracting. I wanted to give them an activity that related to a real world experience. Our motivational speaker name was Cynthia Thompson who was a reporter for a newspaper in Indiana.

On Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the 21st Century Charter School at Gary High School Graduation, two teenage girls walked down the aisle with their High School Diploma in hand already having been awarded their Associates Degree from Ivy Tech Community College several weeks prior.

GARY | The 21st Century Charter School's preschool program is one of more than 40 in Lake County that have been approved to be an On My Way Pre-K provider. It is the only charter school in Lake County to have its preschool program chosen, according to the school.
